Always
install mesh flush to floor to reduce chance of child or pet squeezing
underneath. Shims may be needed in order to install
the brackets parallel to the wall and flush to the floor in a
hallway with a baseboard. Gate must not be modified or used other
than as directed.
Example installation with shims:
As you can see in the photos below, there is the gate, the wall bracket and a white "shim" installed over the baseboard and behind the wall bracket which keeps the bracket parallel to the floor and diminishes the gap betwen the floor and bottom of the gate mesh.
